Meet Mini Oreo

Hello Reader,

Meet Mini Oreo! She is a feral cat that was howling outside our patio one night so we put out food and water and she now returns twice a day for meals.

 Isn't she sweet?

We think she is a she. Not entirely sure, but she is very ladylike and drives the boys wild when she stops by.

I named her Mini Oreo because there is another feral cat on campus who hangs out around our office that we call Oreo. Mini Oreo was so skinny when we first saw her that I thought mini was appropriate for this black and white beauty. She is still tiny, but has certainly gained some healthy weight since

There is a high population of feral cats out here. On campus, there is a student group who takes care of them. There are food and water bowls hidden all over campus to help the cats survive in the desert. There are also a lot of good people who take the cats to veterinarians to keep them healthy and and ensure they are not increasing the population.

We will take Mini Oreo in for a check-up one of these days, once she is comfortable enough around us to pick her up. Until then, we will keep her belly full.

Thanks for reading!
